Dog Sledding!!! http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/ Dog Sledding!!! My favorite picture! Me on the slalam course during the Mail Run 2007- my first year going. This is where my runners cracked about 10 miles out. Plus, I did an additional 6 miles for the Dash with those cracked runners. Hence the "upgrade" my Dad helped with. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072858 96072858 Musher's Sports Mail Run 2007- my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072857 96072857 Dutch and Scout Mail Run 2007- my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072853 96072853 Setting out -5F Mail Run 2007- my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072854 96072854 "Hi" from the middle of nowhere On the trail at Mail Run 2007-my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072855 96072855 The Bridge Mail Run 2007- my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072852 96072852 Hills suck Mail Run 2007- my first year http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96072856 96072856 Out on the trail I think this was near Van Winkle, and old town along the gold rush trail that no longer exhists. I had it up to hand tie all the joints together. No screws in a dog sled to hold it together- only nylon string. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=95563029 95563029 More repairs Here I am sanding down the new runners. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=95563030 95563030 Sled recouperating All clamped up after the new runner strips got steamed and glued. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=95563032 95563032 My Dad My Dad is a master wood worker. I built my sled 100% myself in the Fall of 2007. My Dad did help with the repairs of it for the 2009 season. He knew the best way to attach new runners without having to dismantle the entire sled. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=95563033 95563033 My team during 2009 Mail Run This year I had 8 siberian huskies that I got from a Veterinarian I met on Sled Dog Central. This was Spring of 2010 near Spanaway/Tacoma. I hopped out in traffic to snap their picture. I pointed to my bumper sticker, "I'd rather be driving sled dogs" and they laughed and waved. We don't see people hauling sled dogs in our neck of the woods. http://www.thetreehousehomestead.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=95577152 95577152
